Zing Energy signs the Business Wales Green Growth Pledge

Zing Energy has signed the Business Wales Green Growth Pledge, strengthening our commitment to measurable carbon reduction, responsible business practices and a lower-carbon future for Wales.

Sustainability is most meaningful when it moves beyond statements and becomes a set of practical, measurable actions.

That is why Zing Energy has signed the Business Wales Green Growth Pledge, formalising our commitment to reducing our environmental impact, measuring our progress and operating more responsibly as our business develops.

As a renewable energy specialist supporting organisations with commercial solar PV and battery storage, we believe it is important to apply the same long-term thinking to our own operations that we encourage in the businesses and public-sector organisations we work with.

What is the Green Growth Pledge?

The Business Wales Green Growth Pledge helps Welsh businesses identify practical steps towards improving their sustainability and reducing their impact on the environment.

It covers areas including energy and water efficiency, responsible supply chains, transport and logistics, packaging, waste prevention, staff engagement and the measurement of environmental impacts.

By signing the pledge, businesses commit to taking positive action rather than simply making a general statement of support. It also connects participating organisations with a wider community working towards a more resilient, low-carbon economy in Wales. – Business Wales

The pledge is not a finish line or a substitute for measuring performance. It is a framework for identifying priorities, making commitments and continuing to improve.

What has Zing Energy committed to?

Through the Green Growth Pledge, Zing Energy has committed to several practical areas of action.

Working towards Net Zero by 2050

We have committed to achieving Net Zero emissions as an organisation by 2050.

That long-term ambition is supported by shorter-term targets, emissions measurement and an action plan covering the different parts of our operations.

Measuring and reviewing our environmental impact

We have completed an organisational carbon calculation and published a formal Carbon Reduction Plan.

Our pledge commits us to reviewing this work annually, helping us understand where our emissions come from, where meaningful reductions can be made and how our performance changes over time.

Engaging with our suppliers

We will begin further conversations with suppliers about the use of more sustainable and recyclable packaging.

Supply-chain improvements are rarely achieved by one organisation working in isolation. Opening those discussions is an important step towards reducing waste and encouraging better environmental practices throughout the procurement process.

Communicating our progress more clearly

We have also committed to making sustainability a clearer part of our communications.

This does not mean making bigger or broader environmental claims. It means publishing the plans, targets and evidence behind our commitments so that clients, employees, suppliers and other stakeholders can understand what we are doing and hold us accountable for progress.

These commitments are recorded in Zing Energy’s completed Green Growth Pledge action plan, which was signed in June 2026.

From commitment to a measurable Carbon Reduction Plan

The Green Growth Pledge forms part of a wider programme of environmental work already underway at Zing Energy.

Our published Carbon Reduction Plan establishes 2025 as our baseline year and records organisational emissions of 2,238.6 tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent.

It also sets an initial target to reduce emissions by 24% by 2031, alongside our longer-term commitment to reach Net Zero by 2050.

The plan covers:

  • monitoring and reporting across Scope 1, Scope 2 and Scope 3 emissions
  • energy and water efficiency
  • procurement and supply-chain practices
  • waste reduction and resource management
  • biodiversity and the natural environment
  • staff engagement and our local community
  • annual review and transparent reporting

Our progress will be reviewed each year, with the first formal review of the plan scheduled for June 2027.

Why this matters to Zing Energy

Zing Energy helps organisations explore how renewable energy can support lower operating costs, energy resilience and long-term carbon reduction.

Our work includes survey-led design and managed installation of commercial solar PV and battery energy storage systems for commercial buildings, industrial sites, offices, business parks and public-sector estates.

However, helping another organisation install solar panels does not remove the need to examine our own environmental impact.

Our vehicles, energy use, purchasing decisions, waste, packaging and supply chain all contribute to our footprint. Measuring and managing those impacts is therefore an important part of operating credibly as a renewable energy business in Wales.

The Green Growth Pledge gives us another practical framework for doing that work properly.

What happens next?

Signing the pledge is the beginning of an ongoing process.

Our next steps include:

  • reviewing our carbon emissions and Carbon Reduction Plan annually
  • progressing the actions set out in our reduction plan
  • engaging suppliers about packaging and responsible procurement
  • involving our team in environmental improvements
  • reporting openly on progress, challenges and future priorities

We do not expect every improvement to happen immediately. What matters is establishing a clear baseline, setting realistic targets and demonstrating measurable progress over time.

By combining the Business Wales Green Growth Pledge with our published Carbon Reduction Plan, we are making our environmental commitments more visible, structured and accountable.

Organisations interested in making renewable energy part of their own sustainability plans can speak to Zing Energy about commercial solar PV and battery storage.
